At Sound Direct Medicine, we believe that healthcare should be accessible and affordable for everyone. That's why we started our direct primary care (DPC) clinic, to provide high-quality medical care without the hassle and expense of insurance. Our mission is to change the way healthcare is delivered, one patient at a time.

Our Story

Doctor's Desk

From our founder: Dr. Michael Lorich

Sound Direct Medicine was born out of frustration.  I came to providing health care later in life.  At 35 years old, I started medical school.  I purposely chose to become a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). Fundamentally, the DO orientation is that you are a whole person.  I thoroughly believe this and incorporate this philosophy into my provision of care.  This care practice is in conflict with the majority of the medical industry today.  More often than not, Providers are under pressure to make productivity quotas, keep the volume flowing, and this results in the patient being a product or commodity and treated as such.  I can no longer do this.

My life has been about service.  I have served in the US Army in one form or another for about 30 years.  Enlisted Infantry and serving my Brother-in-Arms or Officer Medical Corp serving Soldiers and their family members as best I can. The Prayer of St Francis sums this up very succinctly, “where there is despair, let me sow hope”.  For most people, going to the Doctor is about problem solving.  It requires time to listen and understand a Patient’s concerns and how it impacts their life before setting a course of action to relieve their difficulty and bring a small measure of hope into their day.  The current state of medical care does not support time with Patients.  It is terribly frustrating for Patients, caring Providers, and certainly me and my team at Sound Direct Medicine.

As frustrating as it is, there is no quick fix to the system of medicine in this country.  However, the team at Sound Direct Medicine and I can change our provision of care – one patient at a time. You are a person and not a problem.  It is okay to have a problem but not okay to keep a problem.  We are here to problem solve, to provide Care and Hope.  Our system provides the time and reduced patient panel to accomplish this.
